Prior to becoming a realm, the Void was the opposing force to another: Omnia. When Omnia shred themselves in order to form what would become Extius and the cores. Extius Vickan, newly formed as the first Ancient as the embodiment of Null — meaning all and none. Extius needed a home whilst he formed and developed.
With no control yet of his power, he turned to the only force that remained and made a bargain with the Void, a place to stay, in return Extius would exalt the Void.
The Void agreed and thus became the home realm of all until of course, the true first generation of Ancients came to be...
Extius called the Void his home until such time he was deposed by the Ancient and current resident head of the Void, Novevu.
In order for Novevu to claim the Void as his own, he made a bargain. One claimant in every generation or in the case of some very specific circumstances, the Void would be given a container or a puppet claimant to whom they could do with what they liked. In return, Novevu would be given authority over the house of Death and the Void.

Nominal head of the realm: Novevu Desdon.
Nominal consort of the realm: Florita Fovey.
Nominal heirs of the realm: Noxvon Desdon, DeVian 'Law' Desdon, Ritunen Desvoy, Vetani Desvoy and Soivan Desvoy.
Previous head of the realm: Extius Vickan.
Previous nominal heir of the realm: Levei Vickan.

Chateau Vigil: The home and base of operations of Novevu and his family, this acts as the meeting place for all Ancients when they must conduct a vote.
The Catacombs: This is Novevu's study and is a treasure trove only matched in its depth and breadth by the library inside of the Citadel. It is also where Novevu stores the bodies and souls of notable individuals of uncertain origin, rank and history. Stockpiling their collective power and influence for some greater purpose.
The Graveyard: A cavernous valley full of gravestones, celebrating and heralding the services and loss of past members of the house of Desdon.
Skull Valley: The birthplace of the house of Desdon's chosen realmic companion, Void pups and their counterparts Void ravens.
The Gates: The only exit point for souls who have returned to the Void to be judged for their life and deeds, the journey towards the gate is treacherous and many souls have been erased by the Void for straying.
