Backstory - Dev was adopted when she was a baby. She had no memories of her family beforehand; it wasn't like with her new life she felt like she was missing out on much. She was adopted by a tech mogul and fully assimilated into his civilian family. She wasn't exposed to her true purpose until she died on her nineteenth birthday.
Dev had just left home in search of her biological parents, trying to retrace the documentation for the adoption. She was running in a lot of circles. One night she fell asleep at the wheel and drove her car over a low bridge and into a body of water. It was the drowning that killed her, but meeting with Novevu that gave her life purpose. The moments before she flatlined dragged on for hours as they spoke and he took it upon himself to inform her of her bloodline. The realizations proved too much for her, though; between being the sole heir to Law Technologies and this newfound mission, she couldn't handle it and shirked both responsibilities for years. At 23, she finally began taking Novevu's propositions seriously.

Backstory - Najya was born on a day thunderstorms clogged the sky. It was in adverse conditions, and her father had helped deliver her with the help of one courageous midwife. She became regarded as The One Who Brought the Light, since the sky parted and a brilliant light shone through the disastrous weather and onto her head, ending the onslaught of storms. From then on, she was considered an oracle, a miracle, a one-in-a-million blessing by the gods. Her tribe has put her on such a pedestal that they call her their savior.
She realized the strength of her roots during a ritual where she chose the weapon she would grow to wield at the age of three. Alvax appeared to her in all his glory, blinding two of the adults overseeing the ceremony in the process. It was then that she embraced her fate of being a Knight of Light.

Backstory - How did they find out they were a claimant?
Nier was never the type of person to try very hard and his parents knew that well. He’d get punished time and time again for sleeping during lessons; causing his father to lose faith in him and leave him and his mother. It wasn’t until he reached the age of fourteen that his mom saw fit to teach him of his position and abilities. By the time he was twenty he had already gained a full grasp of what he was capable of and traveled to many places across the globe; meeting with Nammay multiple times by request of his mother. Although reluctant to accept his lineage, believing it wouldn’t fit well with his constant exhaustion, he eventually agreed to do so when his mother requested it of him on his twenty-first birthday; although he was more interested in finding a bride.

Since his earliest memories of that place, that tomb people were calling a mansion, he had known of his future responsibilities. Raised by his father in a cutthroat political house, he had never learned the meaning of "warmth"; Rivalries between families were unending, and Alexander learned quickly what was important: Duty to his household, no deed was below them, victory at any cost was not just acceptable, but their motto. After 16 cold years of tutelage he was introduced to Xainayne proper to begin further training, and though he had been given a reprieve when it came to family rivalries, Xainayne was a harsh teacher indeed. Backstory - How did they find out they were a claimant?

Gytha was always getting into trouble. As soon as her parents or minders would look away, she would always scamper off on a new adventure, almost always afterwards found somewhere off in the countryside, or the woods not far from her small hometown. Ever the passionate reader of fantastical novels, whenever her body was kept "prisoner" by bothersome parents, she had kept her mind free, wandering imagined fantastical worlds of wonder.
It was on one of her woodland adventures just after her eleventh birthday that she happened across what she first assumed to be just some strange campsite, abandoned by its hosts. After poking around, she quickly found herself surrounded by mysterious people. To her relief, they explained that they were a sect of wiccans, druids and pagans, and that they were finally here in her woods at the behest of Florita, whoever that was. Insistent that Gytha had a role to play in their ritual that night, (and that no harm would come to her), it turned out to be the night of her first meeting with the one they called Florita.

Madness Spreading, Darkest of Darkness: Passively causes anyone caught within or in close proximity of his personal darkness to progressively go through stages of madness. This can range from shivers and panic to nausea and an inability to focus on surroundings. If affected for too long it could cause passing out or hallucinations. The counter would be to defeat him quickly or avoid him if that's not an option and his abilities are given away by an indigo silhouette which covers the outline of darkness he creates. If the shadow in the corner has an indigo outline Gahbreal is probably nearby | Shadow Manipulation, Xainayne's Armament: Shrouds himself in personal darkness which he normally makes in the form of a jacket or coat. While almost always in use during combat it is mainly for intimidation as it doesn't offer any protection, but the madness it induces when nearby as well as the glowing red eyes that come along with it never bode well for opponents locked in combat against him. It can also be sent outward to encompass a large area albeit with reduced effectiveness from Darkest of Darkness and a hindrance for allies | Realm Traversal, Black Gate: Taught to him by Xainayne, as he was incapable of mastering it himself, this ability allows him to move between realms alone or with a single companion in tow at the cost of his own stamina. While useful he needs proper energy reserves or it simply won't work and can only be used few times consecutively without rest. Unaffected by Darkest of Darkness and very specific, one cannot simply go from one place to another but from realm to realm, meaning while you cant go from your home to the next home and back you may go from your home to the Vortex and to the Void although you'd likely be stuck in the void exhausted and without energy. "It's almost like he was made to run errands for them."

Backstory
Gahbreal the executioner, Gahbreal the judge, Gahbreal the dog of the ancients. He's been called many things, but at the end of the day he only sees himself as a wolf. His entire life was dedicated to consistent struggle and growth so that he might become strong enough to fulfil a purpose he never desired, but rarely do we get to decide how we live. There are moments throughout his training, his job, even his life that he simply cannot recall and yet his purpose was never as clear as it is now. The average human always seemed so distant, or at least all but one, yet it wasn't until he lost the only one which mattered that he finally saw it. No more losses so long as he could stop it, no more murderers would go without punishment. He'd become darkness itself, an arbiter of death if he must, wipe out all the "lost" that exist if only to bring peace to the world he knows best. He looks at himself like a starving wolf who struggles to hold onto everything he has left... and yet Xainayne would call him a knight. When you look at everything from the standpoint of an open pasture then you will only ever see yourself as the wolf when you look down on the lambs that belong to the shepherds. However, when you see it all as a vast kingdom and your ancients the kings and queens? Then you're simply the black knight that does what others refuse to do. Slay the enemies where they lie and protect the innocent from all forms of evil regardless of how it may have them look at you. Xainayne saved him from madness and now he'll save everyone else he can.

Personality: As a result of his upbringing with a Claimant father, Loic had a huge love and respect for the natural world, dissuaded from relying on modern-day technology in favor of attuning himself more with nature. He adores trickery and expression, leading to his various mischievous tendences and him carrying a very open and emotional exterior. Nothing gives him a better laugh than surprising his friends, and causing confusion in others. In a serious situation, however, Loic switches into a stoic and intimidating demeanor, flinging insults just as hard as the blows he deals, and might be notable among fellow Claimants for applying a wide variety of tactics and solutions, a result of his very active imagination.


This demeanor is not a mere guise, however, and part of his emotional core. His love for the thrill of the hunt, and his generally lonely existence made him fiercely independent, always defaulting to relying on himself and being rather stubborn on certain subjects, especially when morality is involved. This love of thrill also makes him prone to violent solutions and fiercely reacting to any kind of conflict. He is often known for throwing caution to the wind in the face of risk, for he rarely bothers to worry about anything other than the goal he set himself.


Loic is also strictly against any notion of predetermined destiny, believing that it is one's actions that determine it. He wasn't just born a Claimant, it was with the help of his father, Irvine, and his own competence that he had became a fully-fledged one.

Major Abilities:


Skin Walking- Loic is capable of both partially and wholly transforming into an animal he had seen with his own eyes. Considering his access to his Ancient's realm, this means the Claimant has a grand variety of animals he could turn into, be they partially or fully. Not only does it allow him to fit in with the environment, but it allows him access to various abilities depending on the animal he had transformed into or taken traits of. He can choose to have his clothing either fuse into the transformation or slide off next to him. As a result of the mythical stories he still adores to this day, he has a variety of forms that consist of various mishmashes, from a mix of animal and man, to horrific fusions of multiple wildlife traits, giving him both a conduit for expression, a way to intimidate and dominate opposition, and his favorite… Screwing with people and causing urban legends.
However, he struggles with transforming into any creature that is more than twice his size, the process being exhausting and usually not worth the risk. That, and there is an indeterminable time limit to his full transformations and amalgamated forms, else the "spirit" of the animal would slowly take over, reducing him to a state of mindlessness and mentally reverting into a beast. Thankfully, he usually has a feeling when the time has come for him to go back.


Minor Abilities:




Animal Speech - Any animal that naturally appears is capable of understanding him, and vice versa


Plant Growth - While Loic is able to promote the growth of plants, he cannot directly manipulate them. Most he could do that has any impact in battle is cause an overgrowth that's hard to get through.


Immunity - Poisons and venoms do nothing to this shapeshifting giant.


Force of Nature - In a natural environment, Loic is far more empowered, being gifted with greater strength, agility, perception and reflexes. While empowered like this, a faint green hue covers his body and eyes, which then turns into a pulsating green aura when utilizing his abilities.

Skills: Thanks to both his heritage, abilities, and the guidance of his father, Loic is a skilled survivor, able to withstand even the harshest of environments, all the while able to make various things off the remains of his prey, be they garbs or trinkets. Also imparted onto him was the deep knowledge of all things nature, from the smallest insect to the grandest of trees, another fact that allows him to survive in the various places he calls home. He was also taught martial combat, both with and without weapons, giving him good coordination, even in his myriad of bestial forms.


Fears:
As a man of action, Loic is aware that he cannot be there for everything, and fears the fact this may lead to further evils appearing where his presence would have changed the outcome…


As one with nature, he fears unnatural structures and methods, for they are often made at nature's expense, weakening his Ancient's, and therefore his, domain. This is why he tries to stay away from cities, but he considers smaller towns and villages an acceptable balance. All his weapons were hand-crafted, rather than manufactured. Being someone who lived so freely, he utterly despises forceful restriction, and if found in such circumstances, will do anything in his power to get rid of it. Only time he accepts such is if he willfully does such on himself, comes from someone close to him, or from those above him in the element of nature. Personal freedom is a sacred thing to him, and as such, fears losing it, and despises those that actively cause such suffering.

Appearance:
Standing at an intimidating height of six whole feet, or 1,83 meters, this brown-haired Scotsman also packs a well-toned body of a man who had grown up within the harshness of nature, and would likely outclass the average human even without using his innate powers. His muscles were extremely defined, veins visible from a few sections, alongside patches of thick hair, especially on his forearms, legs, and the center of his chest, almost looking like fur in a way. An elaborate tattoo surrounds his chest, shoulders, and arms, which consists of spiralling patterns resembling that of a tree or cloud. It had no particular purpose, outside of making his appearance all the more intimidating and signifying his deep connection to the natural world. His hair is a loose, messy mane that goes over his shoulders, always showing through his hoods and waving along with the wind. It is accompanied by a short, shaggy beard that covers most of his face, being the only part of his face that looked as if it was maintained in some manner. His eyes were hazel with green flecks, but were occasionally covered by a bright green glow while utilizing his abilities, always observing his environment and in the case of people he’s talking to, focusing in on them attentively and eyeing how they spoke and moved.


The claimant usually wears a large variety of leather and fur clothing, all handmade made from his kills, as he was effectively a master hunter. The fact they were even covered in trinkets made out of various bones signified that he might follow a “waste not, want not” policy, using every bit of what he had hunted. That, or Loic is extremely superstitious, who knows? Excluding the occasional usage of his abilities, he pretty much just isn’t really distinguishable from a regular human otherwise. In hot weather, though, it wasn’t uncommon to just see him shirtless instead.


He also carries two weapons, both gifts from his parents. Gae Bolga, one of his father’s old weapons, while not actually being the real deal from Irish folklore, was still in fact well crafted, with vine-like patterns surrounding him. Said patterns sometimes glowed, serving as a sort of conduit to his abilities. The other, Gaoth, given to him by his mother, was a rather durable and flexible bow made of smoothed out gray wood. Combined with his archery skills, it is a rather precise and deadly weapon in his hands, although he mostly uses it for hunting.


Backstory:


Loic was born of a human mother and a Claimant father, meaning that he was effectively aware of his origin and eventual purpose from the start. Both of them were extremely accepting and supportive of them, raising the young boy in the wilds as they lived in a relatively isolated cabin, for they agreed that such was the best way they could take care of their child without attracting unnecessary attention. It was near her mother’s home village, though, so once in a while, little Loic and his mom would pay a visit. He was seen as a polite kid, even if a mischievous little scamp when people weren’t looking, as he fooled around and played with the other kids without a single worry in the world. His father was always worried that trouble would befall them in some manner as a result of the visits, but his mother’s side of the family, along with most of the village, were rather hush-hush about any instances where Loic accidentally used his abilities. As such, the changeling was provided an environment where he could grow and have some semblance of a normal life, with his nature kept secret outside of the many private activities with his parents. Granted, there was the occasional scuffle then and there, but those were few and far between.


To say his bond with his parents was close was an understatement, especially when it came to his father. He trained him relentlessly once he began showing the hints of his powers, wanting his son to follow in his footsteps. Sure, he was sometimes strict, but that was balanced by great care on his end. They hunted, wrestled, played games, whatever the hell didn’t they do? This bond and his increased awareness of what was going on as he approached adulthood lead to him accepting his role with eagerness, wanting to make his father proud. As he prepared for his personal mission, he was gifted with two weapons, a spear from the father, and a bow from the mother, and when he successfully returned, they had a celebration before he would go out to see the world on his own, free as the birds above and without restraint.


Fast forward five years later, and Loic was now a figure that wandered the lands untouched by cities and other industrial places, sometimes being the subject of urban legends due to his many monstrous forms causing rumours whenever they would be spotted.

Named by a Russian nurse after rejected by her birth mother. Stasia was raised by a household of Order Claimants in Japan rather than in her native country of Sweden, Eviax and to some small extent Gahbreal. Considered a legendary Aikekunai, Stasia was never alone per se; always having the memories and voices of her previous lives within her to keep her entertained. Stasia owns her own fashion brand, but works primarily as the Ancient's honeypot, spreading her legs and stealing secrets from whomever she has been told is the enemy. Otherwise, she is a Geisha for her family when they are holding functions. She does not have a clear relationship with any of the ancients, let alone the one whose element who runs in her veins. Chaemai has often tried to recover and heal the relationship; however Stasia tends to ignores all attempts made, though often considered to be uncaring by others. Stasia adores her younger sister Verin and will do anything to protect the younger of the Noba sisters even if that does mean taking more punishment than warranted by the Ancients for her sibling's reckless actions and associations with the Space treasure Rensai.

Named by the same Russian nurse that named her older sister after being born, Verin was given to the same adoptive family at the age of two and has attached herself to her sister's hip ever since. Unable to touch her only loved one without causing them both severe pain, they have gotten around this by using ability block items to allow for small moments of communication without having to speak. Verin is the current long time partner of the Space treasure Rensai and unlike her sister who is an Aikekunai, Verin is just a regular — often considered the opposite of her sister claimant. Verin has a better relationship with the ancients but does well to make their lives miserable, by means of blotching missions, destroying property — much to the behest of her older sister who pays for the damage in ways Stasia refuses to disclose. Verin believes that one day she will find a way to free her sister from her lives of servitude towards the ancients. When not causing trouble or spending time with her partner, Verin works as a mannerism coach and model for her sister's fashion house.
